Because I'm totally okay with making fun of myself....

SOOOO when your 4 year old wants a Belle cake for her birthday, and you are the farthest thing from a cake decorator.. what do you do???

You try...

Poor Belle... I baked the cake for her dress.. TOTALLY overcooked it... ( I wasn't making it to be edible anyway) but it was so dry that when I put the doll in, it cracked and fell apart. I was so tempted to just THROW IT AWAY. I know.. I know.. most people would say to take the legs off so you don't have to put the whole doll in the cake.. but I refused to pay 20$ for another belle doll and pull her legs off!

Hannah was playing at a friends house (this was the day before her birthday) and I really didn't want to have to disappoint her when she got home... she had been planning this cake for the longest time.

SOOOO.... here is what you do...

You squirt frosting in ALLL of the cracks... fill them with pieces of cupcakes.. and stick her in the deep freeze for an hour or so!
I accidentally erased the picture of Belle hanging out in the frosty weather.. OH WELL!
When it is all frozen and glued together.. you hurry and frost it as fast as you can... with 6 inches of frosting.. and pray that it all dries and hardens before she thaws!

All in all.. it worked out fine. She is pretty getto.. but cute .. and Hannah was THRILLED!

I had to laugh at the first picture, knowing that I would do something like that, except worse. But in the second picture the cake looks amazing. Good job. And tell Hannah happy birthday from us!

Thank heavens for frosting! It turned out WONDERFUL! Nobody would have ever known all that you went through if it wasn't for the first picture! I am very impressed.

I'm so impressed!! You little betty crocker homemaker! And good ideas! But you know that they make dolls specifically for cakes, ya? But I know, there's no replacement for the real Belle!

You did a great job with the cake. Happy Birthday sweet girl. I can't believe she's that old already. By the way, I'm so glad you were able to get your rings fixed. What a horrible experience!
