Finally! Before and After Pic's!

So I have been trying to post before and after pic's of my house for the longest time. There always seems to be something that I want to wait for.. something to get done first.. and it just keeps going on and on. Lately is has been our darn bathroom. I really wanted that to be done first so I could post it with everything else.. but it has been a project from HELL! Maybe I will tell the "project" stories first...
So when we bought this house we knew there were a few projects that we wanted to do. Paint EVERY room.. get an A/C and a furnace.. (this house only have a swamp cooler and radiant heat).. yes.. no A/C.. how did these people live? Anyway.. so other than that we wanted to gut and re-model our master bath.. and new carpet in the bedrooms. So the week that we were moving in.. the painter was still here... no biggie. As soon as he was done then the A/C guys came. They had our house torn apart putting in the ducts etc. Because of one of our vacations.. and some issues on their end.. it took almost 3 weeks.. of pretty much all day, every day work. As soon as they were done then it was time for the Bathroom. We have some AWESOME cousins who came to start on our bathroom! Which by the way.. they did an AMAZING JOB!!! You will see below. The bathroom is where the fun begins!
So Josh and Jonas came to start the demo. They got the floor torn up and we were so LUCKY to find that under the floor it was a HUGE MOLD factory! Great. Black Mold! Hmm.. no wonder we were all sick for so long! Luckily Josh was able to get it all under control.. we didn't have to do anything major to get it done. Next.. it came time to install the new tub. Josh had to frame around it and then once the travertine was around it, its PERMANENT. We had a plumber here earlier in the day to do all of the drain work etc. So before Josh put the travertine around the tub he had what I am calling a "DIVINE INTERVENTION" to fill the tub up, and make sure the jets work. KEEP IN MIND.. THIS IS THE DAY BEFORE WE ARE LEAVING TO CALIFORNIA FOR A WEEK!!!!.. So anyway.. Josh has this divine intervention before he seals the tub in.. He filled it up.. ran the jets.. everything is BEAUTIFUL! Hannah and I were sitting downstairs when all of the sudden.. water comes crashing thru the ceiling into our family room. YEP! The plumber didn't hook up the drain in the tub to the drain in the floor. So needless to say that we had to have our ceiling re-sheetrocked.. repainted etc. Poor Josh! Since we were leaving the next day that left him to deal with the contractors to get the ceiling done. WE OWE JOSH BIG TIME! And if it wasn't for his little revelation to check the tub first.. it would have happened when I was home alone.. and then we would have had to tear all of the travertine up.. so THANKS JOSH! So we get back from vacation.. all is well.. bathroom is almost done! We had to go find a new vanity.. and problems started there again. Finally we found one that would work but Jesse had to chizzle out part of the vanity to make room for the stupid radiant heat pipes that ran in funky places in the bathroom. The shower faucet things are so old that finding new replacements was a joke. When we turned on the shower for the first time.. for some reason the water backtracked .. thru the wall.. and soaked our bedroom carpet.. But needless to say.. IT IS NO DONE!!! AND IT LOOKS AMAZING!!!

It didn't really change a TON.. just got rid of the UGLY wallpaper border and painted.. threw some decor up top.

Family Room.. Also didn't change much! Just a different shade of "tan" on the walls.. and some decor... I think I like their furniture better ;)

The OUTRAGEOUS pink room!! There is still work to do.. to tone it down a little.. but its getting there...

I can't find the before pic's.. but 2 walls were the brightest.. bright green you have ever seen.. and the same BRIGHT tone of YELLOW on the other two... it was .. AHHHH to say the least... but here it is now...




Other things I didn't take pictures of.. are the kids bathroom.. but its nothing fancy.. the guest bath.. same thing.. and the basement.. we just painted it.. nothing fancy.. a bedroom, office, and a family room.. which is our toy room.. and an unfinished bathroom.. thats it.
I have to give so much credit to Jesse. He has spent SOOOO much time and effort into getting things fixed up, our yard done.. He is the BEST!!!!

Thanks to my friend STEPH at THOUGHTS ON THE WALL for all my cute vinyl.. you can't see some of it very well... but its there.. and its CUTE.. she does a FANTASTIC job!!!
