Last year I was a faithful, dedicated blogger. Our blog book is SOOOO big, SOOOOOO super cute, and just FULL of a million posts about what we were doing.. pretty much on a weekly basis. I was just thinking about the fact that it is JUNE.. the MIDDLE of JUNE! That means that our year is HALF over and I have been such a SLACKER! The blog book is my driving force behind this blogging business.. and I feel like I have failed the book! Seriously.. for those of you who have not put your blog book together yet... you are SOOO missing out! I am setting my goal today.. that at least ONCE a week I have to catch up on our daily/weekly activities, and the HILARIOUS things my kids do! GOOD LUCK TO ME!
Its been a while since I have posted an update on the kids. I will start with Mr. Brady.
I always thought I wanted ALL girls! I can do the girl thing all day every day! When I found out I was having a boy, although SUPER DUPER excited, I worried that I wouldn't know what to do with a boy. OHHHHHHHH I want 10 more boys!! I love, love, love the girl thing.... think its awesome, and I have the most fabulous daughter in the whole wide world.. but this boy thing.. OHH FUN! He seriously is just.. PURE JOY! He makes my heart melt every time I look at him! He is a riot!!
Just a few things about Brady:
He has been 25 lbs for the last.. ohhh 6 or 7 months.
He is in the 98th percentile for height.
He is only in the 25th percentile for weight... TALL and SKINNY!!
His blue eyes are still just as bright blue as the day he was born.
He LOVES his sister!! She is absolutely his role model, best friend, and favorite person in the whole wide world. He gets so sad when she is at a friends, school, or anywhere that he can't see her. The other day she was at her friends house and she was ready to come home. Her friends mom called and said that Hannah was heading home (on her bike). Brady and I started walking up the sidewalk to meet her. She came zipping around the corner, about 1/2 block away from us, and Brady let out the LOUDEST, most EXCITED screeeech! "HANNAH"... and he ran as fast as he could to meet her. When he got to her he just about knocked her off of her bike! He hugged her, kissed her, hugged her some more. It is SOO funny. I honestly have to plan Hannah's play dates around his nap time, and make it so she can be gone only when he is sleeping. If I don't time it just right, he is SOO sad. He walks around the house with a pouty little face saying, "Hannah, Hannah, Hannah." I am so happy he loves her.
The other day we were at my parents house in Richfield and Hannah was outside on the porch playing with the dogs. They have a little puppy who is a little rambunctious and was jumping up on Hannah. She didn't seem to mind at all, she was just laughing. Brady was watching through the window and was scared to death. He started to cry and say, "Oh no.. Hannah, Hannah". He thought she was getting hurt. He just LOVES her so much! It is soooo obvious that their little "bond" goes WAY, WAY back, before their earthly life.
He talks SO much! There really isn't anything he doesn't say. We find him mimicking us a lot. If he doesn't know what something is he will say, "what dis", "what dis", until we answer him.
He is SOO lovey! He always wants to give hugs and kisses. Any time he is going outside he says, about 100 times, "bye.. bye.." and blows a kiss between each one.
He will NEVER turn down a high 5! He could be crying his eyes out and if you offer a high 5 he will surly take it!
He LOVES dogs!! We need to get our kids a dog!! I just can't seem to find one that doesn't poop, doesn't need to eat, and doesn't shed! HMM. Our neighborhood is SOOO full of dogs. All day, every day, someone in the neighborhood is out walking their dog. Both of my kids will sit outside and say HI to the dogs as they walk by. They know every dog's name.. and have to pet each one.. EVERY TIME! I'm sure the owners purposely try to walk on the other side of the sidewalk each time.
Just the last few weeks the "BOY" thing has really clicked. Before, he loved princesses, dolls, pink, and anything girlie that his sister loved. Now he has figured out what it means to be a boy. The bugs.. OHHH HE LOVES BUGS! Mud, trucks, tools, bugs, lawn mowers, bugs, cars, did I mention bugs?
He loves to be outside. I can't get him inside! You know its summer when your child in the tub and the water instantly goes BROWN! Its the same with Hannah.
He doesn't eat very often... but when he does.. WATCH OUT!! Loves breakfast.. at about 7 am each morning he wants "ceeedeeal" (cereal). He doesn't ever eat much lunch, and someday he doesn't eat dinner either... but when he does eat.. he can down an adult man size portion.. NO PROBLEM!
He has been such a momma's boy.. still is.. but he is branching out a little bit.. JUST A LITTLE. We will get him there.. slowly but surely.
He LOVES imagination movers! He would watch that ALLL DAY every day if I would let him!
One thing I forgot to blog about...!
-He has been a thumb sucker since the day he was born. In about February his thumb got really dry and cracked. It was a bad enough crack that it would bleed. Every time he would put it in his mouth it would hurt, start bleeding, and he would cry. About 2 or 3 days of this and .... magically... NO MORE thumb sucking!! We are STILl working on his sister!! Someday she will kick the habit!
Although he LOVES Hannah, he torments her to no end some days. He can have her in tears in 2 seconds flat! I keep telling her that he just does it because he loves her. But... again.. I think its just the built in BOY mode.. each boy has it I think!
Well, thats all I can think about at the moment! I'm sure there is more.. so I will have to keep adding as I think about it!
He really is such a joy, and an awesome little guy! We are sure blessed to have him in our little family!
Stay tuned for an update on Hannah..
