We all wonder from time to time if the lessons, comments, encouragements.. all of the things we as mothers do for our children ever sink in. Don't we all ask ourselves from time to time what kind of children we are raising? Well.. friends... today I had one of these moments. The kids and I went to the rec center to see what classes they had to offer for a wee one Hannah's size. I was standing at the desk talking to the lady behind the counter. About 5 feet away from me was a huge glass wall. Behind this wall was the daycare center. Hannah and Brady were intently watching all of the kids inside. A few minutes went by and I looked up at Hannah at the exact second that she pulled her pants down.. and full on MOONED the whole daycare!!!!!! It wasn't just a pull your pants down to see your hiney.. it was a pull your pants down... bend to the side a little and push the little tooshey out.. to the window! Yeah.. thats my daughter. I was soooo mortified... embarrassed... MAD!!! I quickly pulled her into the stroller and in my whispering very angry mom voice proceeded to tell her all of the reasons this was NOT cool.. and how sad I was that she would do something like that. I was so MAD! I got home and logged onto instant messenger to tell Jesse about our little mooning incident.. as I was typing it I just started to laugh! It is definetly funny now.. but it was NOT SO funny then.
One other thing...
The other day Hannah came running upstairs saying, "I'm sorry mom, I'm so sorry about that, I'm just so sorry, Please mom, I'm sorry" and on and on. She didn't have her pants or underware on.. so my first thought is that she has had an accident. I follow her down stairs and the whole way she is still saying "sorry, i'm so sorry". I walked into the bathroom and instantly noticed that the "girl seat" is up... so my first thought is that she didn't notice and tried to sit down on the "boy seat" and started to fall in.. causing the "accident". I noticed that the floor was wet from the toilet clear to the door. I started to laugh.... thinking that she had fallen in the toilet when she perks up and says, "I was trying to pee like a boy". Hmmmm
And again... "What kind of children am I raising?" Hmmm.. we should all ask ourselves that from time to time I suppose.
